This portrait of Chelsea, a beautiful chocolate lab, was painted from reference photographs. Although I never met her, she seemed like the sweetest dog in her pictures. Her owners assured me that she was. Chelsea had the most sculptured muscular body and her coat color was beautiful.
Sandy is a graduate of The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. She has won awards in numerous jury shows and has had four solo exhibitions in New Jersey and Maryland. Sandy has been painting portraits of family pets, domestic animals, and wildlife in oil or colored pencil for 25 years. She currently lives with two dogs, three cats, three koi, and her husband, Max.
